What's Silymarin？

Light yellow powder or crystal, with special smell, easily soluble in acetone, ethyl acetate, ethanol and methanol, insoluble in chloroform, almost insoluble in water, mainly contains a flavonoid complex called silymarin (C25H22O10). This substance is the main source of the plant's medicinal value. Silybin is the most active and is largely responsible for the properties silymarin has. Milk thistle extract has obvious protective and stabilizing effects on liver cells, and is used to treat acute and chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, liver poisoning and other diseases.
